Rodrigo Cota (Fifteenth Century)

Cota, Rodrigo (kō’tä). A Spanish poet of the fifteenth century. He is believed to be the author of ‘The Couplets of Mingo Revulgo’ and of a ‘Dialogue between Love and an Old Knight,’ both reckoned among the earliest of Spanish dramatic compositions. His authorship of the famous poem ‘Celestina’ is contested, it being now attributed to Fernando de Rojas.
