Christopher Pearse Cranch (1813–1892)

Cranch, Christopher Pearse. An American poet and artist; born in Alexandria, VA, March 8, 1813; died in Cambridge, MA, Jan. 20, 1892. Included in his publications are: ‘Poems’ (1844); ‘The Last of the Huggermuggers’ (1856); a verse translation of the ‘Æneid of Vergil’ (1872); and ‘Ariel and Caliban, with Other Poems’ (1887).
