Stephen Crane (1871–1900)

Crane, Stephen. An American story-writer; born at Newark, NJ, Nov. 1, 1871; died at Badenweiler, Black Forest, June 5, 1900. He wrote: ‘Maggie,’ ‘The Red Badge of Courage,’ and ‘George’s Mother’ (1898), stories; ‘The Black Riders and Other Lines’ (1895), verse; etc.
