Jacobus Jan Cremer (1827–1880)

Cremer, Jacobus Jan (krā’mer). A Dutch novelist (1827–80); born at Arnheim. He was a painter, but quit the pencil for the pen. In his series of ‘Stories of Betuwe’ (a rural district) he is at his best. He published a volume of ‘Poems’ (1873).
