Dangeau, Philippe de Courcillon, Marquis de (dä-zhō’). A French writer of memoirs; born in 1638; died in Paris (?) in 1720. He was one of the courtiers about Louis XIV.; his ‘Memoirs’ and ‘Journal,’ particularly between 1684 and 1720 are of historical value.
