Depew, Chauncey Mitchell. An American lawyer; born in Peekskill, NY, April 23, 1834; died in 1928. He was president of the New York Central and Hudson River R. R. Co. (1885–99). Noted as a political orator and an after-dinner speaker. Published ‘Orations and After-Dinner Speeches’ (1890).
