Eustache Deschamps (1346?–1406)

Deschamps, Eustache, called Morel. A French poet; born about 1346 at Vertus, Dept. Marne; died in 1406. He composed a multitude of short poems of a political or moral nature. The ‘Mirror of Marriage’ comprises 13,000 lines. He wrote an ‘Art of Poetizing,’ the earliest mediæval work of its kind.
