Deschanel, Paul. A French politician and writer; born at Brussels, Feb. 13, 1856; died in 1922. Besides works on political geography, he wrote: ‘Orators and Statesmen’ (1888); ‘Literary Figures’ (1889); ‘Questions of the Day’ (1891); ‘The Social Question’ (1898).
