Mary Angela Dickens (1838–1896)
Dickens, Mary Angela (Evans). An English novelist, daughter of William Evans; born in London, March 6, 1838; died on June 22, 1896. In 1861 she married the eldest son of Charles Dickens. Her best-known novel is ‘A Mere Cipher’ (1893). She also wrote ‘Cross Currents’ (1892); ‘Valiant Ignorance’ (1894); ‘Some Women’s Ways,’ a volume of short stories.
