Douglas, Alice May. An American writer of verse and stories; born at Bath, ME, June 28, 1865; died in 1943. Her writings are for young readers, and include in verse: ‘Phlox’; ‘May Flowers’; ‘Gems without Polish’; in stories: ‘Jewel Gatherers’; ‘The Peacemaker’; and ‘Self-Exiled from Russia.’
