John Edwards (1806–1887)

Edwards, John. An American poet; born on the banks of the river Twrch in Wales (whence known as Eos-Glan-Twrch or “the nightingale of the Twrch”), April 15, 1806; died near Rome, NY, Jan. 20, 1887. He did much to promote the publication in America of Welsh periodicals. His published poems include ‘The Crucifixion’ (1853), and ‘The Omnipresence of God’ (1859).
