Sveinbjörn Egilsson (1791–1852)

Egilsson, Sveinbjörn (ā’gēl-sōn). An Icelandic scholar and critic; born in Gullbringasysla, Feb. 24, 1791; died at Reikiavik, Aug. 17, 1852. He edited a series of Icelandic historical works, and completed a ‘Poetic Lexicon of the Ancient Tongue of the North’ (1855–60), published posthumously.
