Ephraim Emerton (1851–1935)

Emerton, Ephraim. An American historical writer; born in Salem, MA, Feb. 18, 1851; died in 1935. After 1882 he was professor of ecclesiastical history at Harvard. His works include: ‘An Introduction to the Study of Mediæval History’; ‘Synopsis of the History of Continental Europe’; ‘The Practical Method in Higher Historical Instruction’; ‘Mediæval Europe, 814–1300.’
