Eutropius (fl. Fourth Century)

Eutropius, or Flavius Eutropius. A Latin historian, who flourished 350–370 A.D. He was secretary to Constantine, and took part in Julian’s expedition against the Persians. He wrote an ‘Epitome of Roman History,’ a brief narrative of Rome from its foundation to the time of Valens. It is written in a simple and forcible style, and has been used as a textbook for centuries.
