Alexander Hill Everett (1790–1847)

Everett, Alexander Hill. An American diplomatist; born in Boston, March 19, 1790; died in China, May or June 1847. He was minister to the Netherlands and to Spain. He published two volumes of ‘Critical and Miscellaneous Essays’ (1845–46); ‘Poems’; ‘Europe: A General Survey’; ‘America: A General Survey’; etc.
