Hugh Boyle Ewing (1826–1905)

Ewing, Hugh Boyle. An American prose-writer; born in Lancaster, OH, Oct. 31, 1826; died in 1905. He received his education at West Point, and served during the Civil War. From 1866 to 1870 he was minister to Holland. He is author of ‘The Grand Ladron, a Tale of Early California,’ and ‘A Castle in the Air’ (1887).
