Sumner Lincoln Fairfield (1803–1844)

Fairfield, Sumner Lincoln. An American poet and prose-writer; born in Warwick, MA, June 25, 1803; died at New Orleans, LA, March 6, 1844. He began the publication of the North American Magazine in 1833; and continued to edit and publish it for five years. His published volumes include ‘Lays of Melpomene’ (1824); ‘Cities of the Plain’ (1828); ‘Poems and Prose Writings’ (1840).
