Dame Millicent Garrett Fawcett (1847–1929)

Fawcett, Millicent (Garrett) Mrs. An English writer, wife of Henry; born at Aldburgh, Suffolk, June 11, 1847; died in 1929. She was a leader in the movement for university education for women. Her published works comprise: ‘Political Economy for Beginners’ (1870); ‘Tales in Political Economy’ (1874); ‘Janet Doncaster’ (1875), a novel; ‘Some Eminent Women of Our Time’ (1889); ‘Life of Sir Wm. Mollesworth.’
