James Barnet Fry (1827–1894)

Fry, James Barnet. An American military officer and author; born in Carrollton, IL, Feb. 22, 1827; died at Newport, RI, July 11, 1894. He served in the Mexican and Civil Wars. His works include: ‘Historical and Legal Effects of Brevets’ (1877); ‘Army Sacrifices’ (1879); ‘Operations under Buell’ (1884).
