Numa Denis Fustel de Coulanges (1830–1889)

Fustel de Coulanges, Numa Denis (füs-tel’ dė kö-läzh’). A French historian; born in Paris, March 18, 1830; died there, Sept. 12, 1889. His ‘Polybius, or Greece Conquered by the Romans’ (1858); ‘The Ancient City’ (12th ed. 1889); and ‘History of Political Institutions in Old France’ (1875–92), are interesting and exhaustive works.
