David Lloyd George (1863–1945)

George, David Lloyd. British statesman; born at Manchester, Jan. 17, 1863; died in 1945. He was of Welsh family, and was educated in Wales. In 1915, he became minister of munitions and in 1916, premier. To literature he contributed only his highly effective speeches. (See Critical and Biographical Introduction).
