François Guillaume de Vaudoncourt (1772–1845)

Guillaume de Vaudoncourt, François, Baron (vō-dô-kör’). A French general and military writer; born at Vienna, Sept. 24, 1772; died at Passy near Paris, May 2, 1845. His works comprise: ‘History of the Campaigns of Hannibal in Italy’ (1812); histories of Napoleon’s campaigns in Russia, Germany, and Italy; and ‘Fifteen Years of Exile’ (4 vols., 1835).
