Rupert Hughes (1872–1956)

Hughes, Rupert. An American writer; born at Lancaster, MO, Jan. 30, 1872; died in 1956. Among his volumes are: ‘The Whirlwind’ (1902); ‘The Amiable Crimes of Dirk Memling’ (1913); ‘What Will People Say?’ (1914); ‘Empty Pockets’ (1915); ‘The Barge of Dreams’ (1916). He produced a number of plays.
