Friedrich Heinrich Jacobi (1743–1819)

Jacobi, Friedrich Heinrich (yä-kó’bē). A German philosopher and metaphysician, brother of Johann; born in Düsseldorf, Jan. 25, 1743; died at Munich, March 10, 1819. ‘Letters on Spinoza’s Philosophy’; ‘Things Divine’; ‘Letter to Fichte’; ‘An Enterprise in Criticism to Render Reason Reasonable’; and ‘Woldemar,’ a philosophical fiction, are among his most important additions to literature.
