Hans Vilhelm Kaalund (1818–1885)

Kaalund, Hans Vilhelm (kä’lönd). A Danish poet; born at Copenhagen, 1818; died in 1885. He published: ‘Et Foraar’ (A Springtide), a collection of his best poems; ‘Fulvia’ (1875), a drama depicting the struggles of the early Christians. ‘En Eftervaar’ (Return of Spring: 1877). He excelled in satirical fables, his being the best Denmark has produced.
