Michael Klapp (1832–1888)
Klapp, Michael (kläpp). A German dramatist and novelist; born at Prague, 1832; died at Vienna, Feb. 25, 1888. He was a successful writer of comedies, of which one of the best known was ‘Rosenkrantz and Guildenstern’ (1878). Others were: ‘The Blank Lottery’; ‘Miss Councillor of Commerce.’ ‘The Bank Barons’ (2 vols., 1877) deserves mention.
