William Leybourn (1626–1716)

Leybourn, William. An English mathematician, a pioneer, in popularizing arithmetic and astronomy; born in 1626; died in 1716. His ‘Urania Practica’ (1648) was the first English treatise on astronomy; his ‘Panarithmologia’ (1693) the first English ready-reckoner.
