Sir Oliver Lodge (1851–1940)

Lodge, Sir Oliver. An English scientist; born at Penkhull, Staffordshire, June 12, 1851; died in 1940. He is known to the general public chiefly through his writings on psychical phenomena. Among his books are: ‘Life and Matter’ (1905); ‘The Substance of Faith’ (1907); ‘Immortality of the Soul’ (1908); ‘The Survival of Man’ (1909); ‘Continuity’ (1914).
