London, Jack. An American romancer, born in San Francisco, CA, Jan. 12, 1876; died at Glen Ellen, CA, Nov. 22, 1916. Drifting to the Klondyke during the gold rush of 1897, London turned his Alaskan experiences to literary account in ‘The Son of the Wolf’ (1900); ‘The God of His Fathers’ (1901); ‘A Daughter of the Snows’ (1902). ‘The Call of the Wild’ (1903) brought him fame.
