John Lord (1810–1894)

Lord, John. An American historian and lecturer; born in Berwick, ME, Sept. 10, 1810; died at Stamford, CT, Dec. 15, 1894. He spent most of his life in historical study and lecturing. He published: ‘Modern History for Schools’ (1850); ‘The Old Roman World’ (1867); ‘Ancient States and Empires’ (1869); and ‘Beacon Lights’ (1883).
