Barbara MacGahan (1852–1904)

MacGahan, Barbara. A Russo-American novelist, wife of J. A.; born (Elagina) on her father’s estate near Tula, Russia, April 1852; died in 1904. She graduated from the Tula Female Seminary in 1866. Her first novel was written in Russian under the pseudonym “Pavel Kashirin”; she wrote in English one called ‘Xenia Repnina.’
