Mackenzie, Compton. An English author; born at West Hartlepool, in 1883; died in 1972. He published: ‘The Gentleman in Grey’ (1906), and ‘Carmine’ (1912), plays; ‘Poems’ (1907); ‘Kensington Rhymes’ (1912); ‘Sinister Street’ (1913–14), a novel.
