Garrick Mallery (1831–1894)

Mallery, Garrick. An American ethnologist; born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, April 23, 1831; died in Washington, Oct. 24, 1894. His works in part are, ‘A Calendar of the Dakota Nation’ (1877); ‘Sign Language among the North American Indians Compared with That among Other Peoples and Deaf Mutes’ (1881).
