Hector Malot (1830–1907)

Malot, Hector (mä-lō’). A French novelist; born near Rouen, May 20, 1830; died on July 19, 1907. Of his numerous works the best known are: ‘The Victims of Love,’ in three parts; ‘The Lovers’ (1859); ‘Husband and Wife’ (1865); ‘The Children’ (1866); ‘Doctor Claude’ (1879); ‘Accomplices’ (1892); ‘In the Bosom of the Family’ (1893); ‘Blue Blood’; ‘The Novel of my Novels,’ etc.
