Mann, Mary Tyler (Peabody). An American writer, wife of Horace Mann; born in Cambridgeport, MA, Nov. 16, 1806; died in Jamaica Plain, MA, Feb. 11, 1887. Her published works are: ‘Flower People’ (1838); ‘Culture in Infancy’ (1863); ‘Life of Horace Mann’ (1865); ‘Juanita, a Romance of Real Life in Cuba,’ published after her death.
