Arthur Williams Marchmont (1852–1923)

Marchmont, Arthur Williams. An English novelist and journalist; born at Southgate, England, in 1852; died in 1923. He engaged in journalism in London and afterwards in the provinces, editing successively the North Eastern Gazette and Lancashire Daily Post. Author of ‘Isa’ (1887); ‘By Right of Sword’ (1897); ‘The Greatest Gift’ (1899); ‘In the Name of a Woman’ (1900); ‘For Love or Crown’ (1901); ‘Sarita the Carlist’ (1902); ‘The Queen’s Advocate’ (1904); ‘The Heir to the Throne’ (1914); ‘A Tight Corner’ (1915).
