William Carlos Martyn (1841–1917)

Martyn, William Carlos. An American biographical and historical writer; born in New York City, Dec. 15, 1841; died in 1917. He was a Presbyterian clergyman. In his works are included: ‘Life of John Milton’; ‘Life of Martin Luther’; ‘History of the Huguenots’ (1866); ‘History of the Pilgrim Fathers of New England’ (1867); and ‘The Dutch Reformation’; ‘Christian Citizenship’; ‘Sour Saints and Sweet Sinners’ (1898).
