José Jacinto Milanés (1814–1863)
Milanés, José Jacinto (mē-lä-nās’). A Cuban poet; born in Matanzas, Aug. 1814; died in Nov. 1863. His drama ‘El Conde de Alarcos’ at once gave its author fame. The drama ‘A Poet at Court’ also met great success. He published ‘A Cuban Looker-on,’ a series of social sketches (1842).
