Abraham Mills (1796–1867)

Mills, Abraham. An American prose-writer; born in Dutchess County, NY, in 1796; died in New York City, July 8, 1867. He published ‘Literature and Literary Men of Great Britain and Ireland’ (2 vols., 1851); ‘Outlines of Rhetoric and Belles-Lettres’ (1854); ‘Poets and Poetry of the Ancient Greeks’ (1854); ‘Compendium of the History of the Ancient Hebrews’ (1856).
