Paul Elmer More (1864–1937)

More, Paul Elmer. An American essayist; born at St. Louis, Dec. 12, 1864; died in 1937. He was editor of the Nation (1909–14). He wrote: ‘The Great Refusal: Being Letters of a Dreamer in Gotham’; ‘Shelburne Essays’ (9 vols.); ‘Platonism’ (1917).
