Philip van Ness Myers (1846–1937)

Myers, Philip van Ness. An American educator and historian; born in New York State, 1846; died in 1937. He was president of Belmont College, OH, and was been dean of the University of Cincinnati after 1895. He wrote: ‘Remains of Lost Empires’ (1875); ‘Outlines of Ancient History’ (1882); ‘Outlines of Mediæval and Modern History’ (1886); ‘General History’; ‘The Middle Ages’; ‘The Modern Age’; ‘History as Past Ethics.’
