Božena Němcová (1820–1862)

Němcová, Božena (nyem’tsō-vä). A Czech poet and story-writer; born (Pankl) in Vienna, Feb. 4, 1820; died in Prague, Jan. 21, 1862. She studied the folklore of the Czechs, and embodied it in poetic narratives, notably ‘Little Grandmother,’ and the ‘Little Mountain Village.’
