William Wilberforce Newton (1843–1914)
Newton, William Wilberforce. An American clergyman and miscellaneous writer, brother of Richard H.; born in Philadelphia, Nov. 4, 1843; died on June 25, 1914. He was rector of a Protestant Episcopal church at Pittsfield, MA. His works include: ‘Essays of To-day’ (1879); ‘The Priest and the Man’ (1883), a historical novel; ‘Ragnar, the Sea-King’ (1888); and a series of sermons for children.
