Giovanni Battista Niccolini (1782–1861)

Niccolini, Giovanni Battista (nē-kō-lē’nē). An Italian poet and dramatist; born near Pisa, 1782; died in 1861. His tragedies ‘Antonio Foscarini’ (1827); ‘Polissena’; ‘Giovanni da Procida’ (1830), and ‘Filippo Strozzi’ (1847), are well known.
