Ivan Nikitin (1824–1861)
Nikitin, Ivan Savvich (nē-kit’in). A Russian poet; born in Varonesh, Oct. 3, 1824; died on Oct. 28, 1861. His ‘Peasant Hangman’ (1858), and ‘Poems’ (1856), ‘Taras,’ and other verse, have given him a conspicuous place.
