Lady Anne (Lindsay) Barnard (1750–1825)

Barnard, Lady Ann. A Scotch poet; born at Lindsay in Fifeshire, May 6, 1750; died on Dec. 12, 1825. She is famous for ‘Auld Robin Gray’ (1772), a ballad which has attained great popularity. A volume of her letters was published in 1901 as ‘South Africa a Century Ago.’
