Ompteda, Georg von. A German writer; born at Hanover, March 29, 1863; died in 1931. His best-known novel is ‘Sylvester von Geyer’ (1897); he wrote also: ‘The Master of Ceremonies’ (1898); ‘The Philistines are Upon Thee!’ (1899); ‘Heart’s Home’ (1905); ‘The Old House’ (1914).
