François de Pedouë (1603–1667)

Pedouë, François de (ped-ö-ā’). A French poet; born at Paris, 1603; died at Chartres, 1667. His works are: ‘Essays in Poetry and in Praise of a Lady’ (1624); ‘Early Works of the Sieur Pedouë’; and ‘The Polished Citizen.’ (1631). Thereafter he renounced poetry and set about compiling a work on mystical theology, ‘The Granada Collection.’
