George Peele (1556–1596)

Peele, George. An English dramatist; born in 1556; died in 1596. He wrote: ‘The Arraignment of Paris,’ a comedy (1584); ‘The Chronicle History of Edward I.’ (1593); ‘The Battle of Alcazar’ (1594); ‘The Old Wives’ Tales’ (1595); ‘David and Bethsabe’ (1599).
