Karl von Perfall (1851–1924)

Perfall, Karl, Baron von (per’fäl). A German story-writer and art critic; born at Landsberg on the Lech, March 24, 1851; died in 1924. Under the pseudonym “Theodor von der Ammer,” he wrote ‘Munich Pictures: Humor and Satire from Isar-Athens’ (2d ed. 1878); and under his own name the novels ‘Ghosts of Quality’ (1883); ‘Wedding of Herr von Radenau’ (1884); ‘Viscountess Bossu’ (1885); ‘The Langsteiners’ (1886); ‘Natural Love’ (1890); ‘The Devout Widow’ (2d. ed. 1890); ‘Lost Eden: Holy Grail’ (1894); ‘At the Table of Life’ (1902); ‘His First Wife’ (1913).
